FutureStars Showcase 2019- Local Teen Bands Wanted!

FUTURE STARS SHOWCSE 2019

– Call for Bands

City Music hosts a FutureStars Showcase every year. FutureStars gives teen bands an opportunity to perform on stage, with professional sound system support for family and friends. It is an amazing experience for young musicians and impressive to all that attend!

FutureStars is NOT a battle of the bands. It is truly a showcase that welcomes all genres of music. Bands receive cash, prizes and prestige for participating. The band that sells the most tickets earns the coveted ‘headliner’ spot to close the concert, and future opportunities to perform at other public venues.

This years FutureStars Showcase will be held Sunday March 31, 2019 from 4-8pm at the Bull Run Restaurant in Shirley, MA.

Do you have a band that would like to perform at the next FutureStars Showcase? We are NOW looking for bands and musicians 18 years and under.  Click here to apply.  Hurry, applications are due by February 23, 2019.

Here are ten reasons why students benefit by participating in a recital: Continue reading “10 Reasons Why Recitals Are an Important Part of Music Education”

2017 FutureStars Band, The Crushers, Play On!

When they applied to perform at FutureStars Showcase 2017, The Crushers band members knew that the event was a fun chance to play their music for family and friends, because they had performed at the concert the year before.  In 2016, they were a foursome; brothers Ben and Jonathan Godbout (drums and guitar/vocals) and brothers Jake and Zac Brennan (guitar and bass) all between 11 and 13 years old.  In 2017, after a year of working on their music and adding lead vocalist James Barone they knew they could out-do their previous concert performance.  Continue reading “2017 FutureStars Band, The Crushers, Play On!”
