Tom Ruckey has been an instructor at City Music’s Lesson Studios since 2003. He offers a wealth of professional drumming experience from performance, conducting and writing scores for marching drum cores. Tom works from the basic of rhythm, time keeping and expands lessons to develop ‘independence’ essential for playing drum kits. He encourages proper technique to avoid the pitfalls of habits that can cause injury over time.

Jay Sharron is a local musician who brings over 25 years of experience in live and studio performance as a drummer, guitarist and vocalist. Jay taught at City Music from 2000-2004 and is excited about the opportunity to return to private instruction. Jay has studied with renowned drummer Bob Gullotti of the Boston-based avant-garde jazz trio, The Fringe. Matthew brings more than 40 years for drumming experience to our City Music studios. Studying since he was 8 years old, Matt has trained under Simplex Minutemen Drum Corp leaders Bill Jamsa and Tom Ruckey. His education has included set drumming, timpani, multi pitch drums among other percussion and techniques. Professional drummer and vocalist, Mike Bangrazi, has over 12 years of teaching experience and an extensive background in various musical styles. He has performed in numerous bands, projects, and recording sessions all over New England for more than 30 years. Mike has developed his own curriculum, laying down the foundations for traditional techniques in modern drumming with rudiments, basic beats, and reading drum notation for beginner to advanced students.
