Violin, Viola, Cello Teachers
Whether you want to play classical strings or fiddle style, our instructors can teach you to play these fretless instruments. Lessons will focus on ear training and bowing technique, as well as music theory, in the genre you want to play. You will be inspired by their enthusiasm and love of music.

Jesse Mailloux is a violinist from Hubbardston, Massachusetts. He started playing in the Quabbin Regional School district in 3rd grade, playing through his years in high school and college.
During high school he began to teach elementary school students, and has now taught a vast range of ages and skill levels. His focus is on technique and written music with a mentality of "learn it right the first time". Jesse is open to any ages and any levels of ability for lessons.

Learning a string instrument can be challenging, but with the guidance of an experienced teacher students enjoy the challenge and learn more quickly. Ms. Myra MacLeod is a wonderful instructor who will make you feel at home with your instrument and get you playing. Mrya especially loves getting groups of students together to share the joy of making music, and “motivating all ages to play for a “lifetime”.
Myra MacLeod began violin in Boston at age 7, growing up in a house full of instruments and musicians and continued lessons into adulthood. It was the golden age of
Folk Music. While living in Cambridge in the early 1970’s she learned improvisation and many styles of fiddling, bringing both violin and viola to the stage.
Later, while bringing up a family, Myra took lessons in NYC with Julie Lieberman for improvisation, Bornoff String Education with Dr. George Bornoff, and began performing with acoustic bands.
From 1997 to 2004, Myra taught violin at the Performing Arts School of Worcester (PASOW) and also acquired Suzuki Teacher Certification. While at PASOW, she continued studying advanced classical violin with Simon Kim.
More recently, she has played with Blackstone Cúil for seven years, and now is the Artistic Director of the Worcester Folk Orchestra.
Myra’s teaching methods utilize the resources of: Suzuki (1-4) Bornoff’s String Education, the Doflein Method (1-5), folk music and a healthy dose of improvisation and music theory (I Can Read Music, Books 1 & 2). Her passion is listening and playing together and motivating all ages to play for a lifetime.

As a professional bassist, Tom has performed in Boston and the surrounding area for 40+ years in many musical organizations and genres including jazz, classical, theater, rock & roll, funk, R&B, country, pop, etc.
Tom specializes in elementary instrumental music, helping young beginning players on band and orchestra instruments.
